Hey Pop, oh. She's trying to see behind us.

This is the "Tweed Intrigue" fashion pack, being modeled by "Angel Eyes" Poppy parker. She's the second in the line of possibly three Charlie's Angels themed dolls in the Poppy Parker line. (No guarantee that there will be a third but I'd say she's an odds-on favorite) She looks like Jaclyn Smith. This is her plainclothes costume, I suppose you could say. Her Angel costume puts me to sleep, but I guess some people like it... Sickos...

She's only fun for a couple seconds.

Just kidding her golden jumpsuit is great it's just only so much fun. She came with a purse and a gun. She immediately lost both of those into my chair when I opened her. The fun was over. I put on her golden sandals, not really that fun when she's wearing a giant golden onesie, and her jewelry and put her on display.

But my Poppy's hair did not look like the above picture. From what I can tell, nobody's did. Basically from the footage I've seen, if you got your Poppy in a box, meaning she had been laying on her hair, your Poppy's hair was a crapshoot, only the odds were worse than a straight up crapshoot. In fact, my only deduction can be that ambitious, complex, and lo-ong hairstyles like these cannot be done with these dolls.

I've seen pictures on the forum of gorgeous re-dos of Angel Eyes' hair where people have made it look truly glorious. But these people must be magicians or sprites with fairy powers. This is the very first IT doll I've ever owned that I have actually tried to fix her hair. It was so bad. I wish I had taken a picture but if you got one of these you know what I'm talking about. I was not about to stick my doll's head in a pot of boiling water or even wash it, brushing it made my stomach churn but I figured it couldn't get worse. I used a 360 mister to wet it down and a tiny-toothed comb to just get the snarls out. Now it looks like this:

The hair wants what it wants.

That's a lot of product...

She does not look like she just came from the salon, but she does not look like she just rode 75 miles on the back of a flatbed truck doing 90 down the interstate either so I'm ok with it. But for how much IT dolls cost, just keep it long and simple, or short, gelled and unmovable please, this is unappealing to put it mildly.

The other sort of ok news about Angel Eyes; the little gun fell out of the recliner I was sitting in, so I did get one of her accessories back. The gold purse remains at large.

Are we done with my flaws yet???

But ok enough about Angel Eyes' shortcomings: this fashion pack is her Jerry Maguire - it had her at "Tweed". She looks great in it with her coloring, which was always gorgeous despite her unfortunate hair. The brown tweed makes me think of Cambridge, dusty library shelves, afternoon tea, big Ben, the Parliament building, London ok it makes me think of England. Honestly just looking at the girl in the tweed and the corduroy and the boots, I kept thinking this young beautiful girl should be in a miniskirt. These clothes are for a 45-year-old professor of biology. But if you look at pics of Jaclyn Smith on the show Charlie's Angels, she wore this exact outfit, from the pussy bow to the culottes. I'll bet she was the brainy one of the 3.

Well whatever else she is, she's a klutz. I mentioned how she lost everything she owned as soon as she got to my house, now that I've gotten her into her new clothes, she can't stop dropping her new purse! And not just regular gravity-straight-down type dropping, this is kamikaze projectile throwing across the room kind of supernatural activity! And for putting earrings into an already used earhole, these earrings are way too teensy. She's lost one of those already.

Don't judge me

But her blouse is really charming, in that way that perfect miniature facsimiles always are. It has unbelievably small cufflinks, that adorable big pussy bow on the collar, and it's a body suit as well so no worries about it coming untucked which I personally love.

So sweet, such a pain in the ass to actually wear....

She has these amazing sunglasses that remind me of Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit which makes them real badass.

It's fuzzy, the glasses are so exciting to me, I start shaking violently when I try to photograph them!

I was born in the late 70's, so I don't actually remember culottes being fashionable, but I do remember women wearing culottes, if you get my meaning. When I look at this Poppy I do think the culottes look weird, as I tend to think when I see anyone in culottes, but if I try to imagine them as bellbottoms they look even weirder. Obviously as this is an homage to Jaclyn Smith, they've gotta be culottes cause that's what she wore. I'm not saying I'm seething with hatred for them, but I wouldn't be caught dead in culottes.

The boots are so cute too, wouldn't want to cover them up.

I didn't do the greatest job on the boots this time. They are the old full zip up the back models, and when I put the first foot in I thought foot and boot had bonded properly. The end of the story is my Poppy ended up with two different height heels. So she either stands lopsided or as I finally figured out last night I can bend one knee slightly to make her look balanced. I tried to make it look like she was sticking out a hip in a sexy way but no.

She's not stable...

The whole English vibe (which I'm very into) has kind of got me thinking of Sherlock Holmes, who I could see in this whole getup, especially the long coat and vest, maybe not the culottes. Maybe that extrapolates back to the Charlie's Angels character too, maybe she is the detective of the bunch, the girl sherlock character. I should just watch the damn show instead of doing all this extrapolating. I'm like an archaeologist trying to interpret ancient evidence.

Integrity's clothes are always made high quality, whether they be tweed or thin cotton. These are no exception and they're gorgeous. I am crazy about the blouse and the boots, and the glasses are unintentionally a fun bonus for any Smokey fan.

I'd recommend this set to 3 types of people - 1. redressers. The blouse body suit, vest and boots are great additions. 2. People creating Charlie's Angel's dioramas. 3. Completionists - that's me. And I don't succeed at completing or I'd be broke, I only try, but that's why it's fun. As you well know reader.

Give it up for pussy bows!
