She has arrived.
She has arrived.

Navia Phan is one of my favorite characters that Integrity Toys makes. She's beautiful but it's subjective compared to most of the other IT ladies, I can understand when some people say they don't find her sculpt pretty, while I certainly find her stunning. She looks like she's got a secret and she's not telling; she's just making it known she's got a secret so that you want to know more about her. When I first opened "Strut it Out", all the tomato red fabric, fiery red jewels, gold sequins and blonde hair made me think of the very first scene of "Temple of Doom". This put that Mandarin version of "Anything Goes" in my head and honestly, it's been there since, surprisingly I still know it from back when I was 7 and watched that movie daily over that one summer. It was actually a great summer for me so, good memories.

She got comfortable immediately.

Navia is serving some serious underboob in this knockout of a little red dress. Thankfully her roommate didn't let her leave the house tonight without a pair of matching tomato red panties, or this would have been a "Basic Instinct" moment for her, trying to sit in that little 3" hem dress. The material that makes up her dress and her giant bow accessory is sort of a stretchy polyester kind of fabric that reminds me of dress pants that I wore back when I used to work at a bank. It feels nice and it has just a little give to it. Her boots have no zipper whatsoever, they just slide right on in one motion, or in many little struggling tugging motions if you're me. But they look great!

She has many good points.
She has many good points.

Navia is the bartender at Club Meteor, which is fitting because I believe her little egg-shaped purse is actually a liquor bottle. Pretty and practical. Unlike her beautiful bejeweled ruby ring, which like many teensy dolls' precious valuables, has a death wish and keeps trying to ditch itself into the void like a kamikaze pilot. Like her boss Zuri, she has the much preferred (by me certainly) new coffin nail sculpt and they are looking great.

Meet Bob.
Meet Bob.

My absolutely favorite thing about this Navia, aside from really just the doll as a whole, is her hair. The sharp bang and the short, sharp little bob are like a revelation on this Navia, almost like a new kind of hairstyle on her because it's being done properly. As has been the case with their dolls released recently, it is gelled to the Gods which I fully endorse, thanks for that Integrity. I love the fact that her hair is so short, and her earrings hang down longer than her hair does, it's just a shame that the earrings have to break up the perfect round of that perfect bob. She has gold dust on her eyelashes which I also appreciate and find to be such a delightful detail.

I have to say though, although I love my Navia and I'm not parting with her, I think she has a little less hair than the doll in the promo pictures. In the promo pic, the earrings just seem to drop down out of a solid fringe of hair without creating a disturbance in the hair itself, but if you look at my own Navia in the previous picture, you can see that her hair is too thin for that to happen, you see the earrings through her hair. Not a huge deal, sometimes it seems like IT dolls have TOO much hair and I can never get it to just calm down and look neat but here just a little bit more might have been nice. It definitely doesn't ruin her, and this is still one of my favorite dolls of the year, even though she's relatively simple. Just like with "Look at Her" Zuri, this guest designer seems to really be able to interpret a doll from the Meteor Line in a way that seems almost organic and truly meaningful to the line's story.

She knows it.
She knows it.

Beautifully written piece about Navia. I love her sculpt. This is my second Navia, and I would say she is my fave.
