***EDIT 11/24/24 - Correction: Giselle is NOT an identical sculpt to Agnes!***

This is PS Giselle. I can’t decide whether it’s a hard G sound or a soft J sound. It’s preventing me from knowing her fully.

She looks like she's staring in the convenience store window

Come back with me to 2022 and meet her. You may notice that she has an exceptionally beautiful face. You’re right and there is a good reason for that, which I finally just caught on to. I just started buying Giselle dolls (this being my first one) for that very reason. She is the sister of one of my most favorite, most beautiful, most interesting dolls IT makes, the Baroness Agnes Von Weiss, who I thought was an orphan. I thought Agnes’s history was that her birth parents were deceased, and she was adopted by the Baron Von Weiss, who later died in a car crash whereon she took his title, and all the other fancy Barons were like “Gasp!” The point is, I thought Agnes was an only child. Turns out she has this frickin’ twin sister who’s like 10 years younger who works for NuFace. Ok. I’ve been resisting it for a while now, but I accept it. I love Giselle Diefendorf. She’s got Agnes’s exact sculpt and she’s stunning. And her last name is ridiculous. So, since she’s in NuFace she’s got the skinny heroine-chic body with tiny barely breasts, but she can wear new fashionable clothes that push the limit… Or just are crazy and don’t even try to look good. As you can see. Her dress is made of polyester and it has different color swatches of houndstooth fading in and out randomly. Primary colors! The vibe is definitely “let’s tag this wall with our gang sign” or trying to be. It has a lot of detailed stitching especially around the breastal area. But forget spreading your feet and standing your ground Giselle because this dress is so tight you can’t spread your legs farther apart than the teensy hem of this questionable garment that encompasses you. Poor kid.

Giselle's dress got tagged.

She's selling the theme.

She has cat eye sunglasses in yellow (a primary color) and you can really see her eyes through them, which I got a real kick out of since they fit on her face as well. Her accessories are not the worst or the best. I’ve never been crazy about the pearl ring. The earrings I like; I think they are perfect to wear to an art opening in London, which is where Giselle is going in her little story/outfit explanation written by IT. The purse is huge and red (primary color!) These accessories seem sort of thrown together last minute and colored to match the theme. Her necklace actually broke while I was trying to put it on and I SEWED it back together with needle and thread. But it looks great now. I can’t keep her sunglasses on for too long though cause I love that face so much so I had to change her whole situation up.

"It's 18 and up night at the bar tonight right?"

The Jacket was taped to the inside of the top of the box. It was like IT was presenting it to me, like they wanted me to notice that it was special. They call it a “Bomber Jacket”, which…. I think they're called that because they call back to the jackets that WWII pilots wore in shape and tailoring. To me it looked like the kind of jacket you buy for winter if you are a girl in the 90’s. With a hood. The hood has a super soft faux fur trim on it that if a live girl was wearing, she would keep that thing pulled close around her head to keep the fur on her face full time, if she were me. The inside has the same graffiti feeling to it that the dress does, it’s yuck but it matches. It is consistent. But there’s something about the outside of the jacket though, it shimmers kinda magically if it catches the light in the right way.

This picture is an injustice.

It does not show up on camera correctly. Anyway, I started to really like this jacket as I watched Giselle wear it over her week on my end table. It was one of the few things I had seen on an IT doll that I would have worn in the 90’s and 00’s when I was in my 20’s (another off the top of my head being Eden Blair’s flair jeans with the heart pockets on the butt). I was very sad that I could only zip her up in it one time, because when I unzipped it the zipper came right off and I could never get it together again properly. Let me just say here that I have always been told that I have piano hands, meaning long delicate fingers, and I consider myself a careful person. I don’t go around pounding tables and breaking them accidentally, I’m not a giant or an orc, I’m just a normal sized lady, maybe a little taller than average at 5’9”. But I had some troubles with these accessories my friend. Nothing I couldn’t fix to my satisfaction, I just leave her coat open and the necklace looks fine except for the very back, you’d never know. Now for the piece de resistance.

Oh Sonny the power!!!

Look at those tights! Solid, bright, electric blue! That is really something unique, and also something I wish I owned in real life. I love tights that you can’t see through!

Imagine wearing these in real life? Even when I weighed 120 I'd have broken both my ankles!

And then they top it all off with insanely high platforms in a matching blue satin! Really this seems artsy to me, this seems more like what the dress was a bad attempt at. But they’re so pretty. Even though they must always stay about this close to each other because the damn dress hem is so tight. These tights always caught my eye when I saw this doll when scrolling through a list of IT dolls on the internet. They are eye catching and very cool and smooth. They are kind of like the eye of the storm that is the dress.

There she is, my sweet love.

Look at that face. Look at the grey eyeshadow, the dark eyeliner. I love the eyebrows, the pale blue eyes, the straight black hair, the pale pink lips. And of course, the giant nose. All the great beauties have some unique quality that makes them stand out from the mob. You could never see Agnes this way, with a chain choker and yellow sunglasses and that makeup, but here she is, and it’s Giselle. How else are you gonna get that face with that screening and long straight black hair? If I redressed my dolls she would be just perfect for redressing. I don’t really know where people are getting all these doll clothes to redress their dolls anyway… Where are you guys getting these extra clothes at? Anyway despite the mysteries of Giselle’s birth when both of her parents were dead (quite a trick) and her somewhat shady past, I looked into her doll eyes in that special way my grandmother taught me and saw her doll soul. And I saw that she’s exactly like her sister (literally) with whom I’ve already formed a deep and loving bond. I don’t care what everyone says about Agnes, she’s alright by me. So is Giselle, which I’ve decided has a hard G. She is beautiful and wonderful to look at. This iteration, in my opinion, is a bit out of control in every area that has the polyester print. The doll, the outside of the coat, her tights and platforms were beautiful order and everything else was pretty much chaos. But keep in mind, this doll is from 2022 and has been reviewed by those in the know fully and to conclusion, no one has any new perspective on this doll. I do, because I'm not in the know and I just bought her! I'm just a doll fan. All I know is that I find IT dolls extremely charming and I enjoy them very much, and I've always enjoyed dolls so I feel like an expert in dolls. Probably you are too if you have loved dolls your whole life, I would say. But Giselle, I’ll be snatching her up whenever I see her from now on.
