I know. The bow is too much, isn't it? But the face, gorgeous as always!

So, this is one of my favorite Poppies reader. She's part of the basic line which seemed like it was going to be a thing at the time when I started collecting, but by now the website has been pretty much frozen for years and there's been no further "basics" or whatever released but at least beautiful "Island Time" Poppy came out of the whole thing! Her black hair - "raven" is the technical term, I love that concept, raven hair, sounds so poetic... her blush is on point, she just came from having her brows waxed, I mean, it's like seeing a supermodel in person.

I do love a good cape and Boho comes with an excellent one. I would definitely wear this to a Phish concert in the 90's or nowadays to the farmer's market or to see my kid in the school play. I liked this outfit, the colors are unexpected together I think but they work.

A good anti-social strategy to avoid shaking hands!

This purse makes a statement. It says "Boho".

The purse with this set seems really special, it has a gold snowflake on the front with a tiny ruby in the middle and a golden tassel. It has 2 handles, the short one on top and a long golden chain broken by teensy baubles every few millimeters. The ruby kept catching my eye and drawing my gaze back to Poppy again and again. Poppy and her famous witchcraft.

I've been in a sundress for 2 years. This feels restrictive.

As usual I had my struggle with the accessories. My famously nimble fingers just couldn't cope with the hook and loop situation on Poppy's necktie device. That one I had to set down for a few hours and then come back to I got so frustrated. But eventually I got it and now I can say that it reminds me of a bolo tie - is it supposed to be a bolo tie? It's just a pretty ribbon bow, I guess. It's not my favorite accessory, but I like the little buttercup in the center of the bow. The tights I adore, opaque tights are a right, not a privilege Poppy. You carry the hopes and dreams of all of us who don't feel like shaving but want to wear knee-length and shorter skirts. And the earrings are just gold blobs, right? I mean, we're all agreed that they're just shapeless blobs and that's ok? Do people go around wearing big gold blob earrings in real life? That's fashionable? Ok.

We need to talk about the shoes...

The shoes are adorable in the front, with the strap and buckle detail. But for some reason they are platforms and because of their design, they cannot sit flat while they are on her feet. I mean, I really don't know how she's getting home but it is not by walking, that's for sure. You better just have one drink Poppy cause walkin' in those things is already impossible.

This blouse, it was made in some kind of miniature factory by miniature people.

The blouse is so detailed, it's some kind of feat of engineering. It's the kind of thing I never would have appreciated before; it was only once I got to a certain age that I started looking at things like fabrics and knits. But looking at it now, I can see all the creativity that went into it. It has tiny cuffs and puffy lower sleeves, such a precious detail on the blouse itself and upper sleeve, the miniscule pearl buttons, and finally the stiff collar. It's impressive.

This is "Island Time's" hair from the back, removed from the excessive hair bow and all brushed out. Ever since the disaster that was "Angel Eyes" hairdo forced me to brush out that doll's hair I'm mad with confidence to brush every doll's hair! Muahahaha!!!

I'm tired of being hurt by her!

That stiff upper collar seemed to give my sweet Island Poppy a stiff upper lip too and even though I love her new outfit, I have taken off the hair bow. It was too big, nobody walks around with a giant print hairbow like that, even if you are as gorgeous as Poppy you are not pulling that off.

She's trying to have an attitude but the hair bow just makes her look unstable.

Ok Poppy you're right gorgeous people can pull off most anything it's ridiculous. Poppy stuns today and she'll stun tomorrow. I just used to look at my sweet Island Poppy and hear Calypso Music and taste Pina Coladas and now she's got business to do. Boho Business.

Now that's better.

In the end I put my pretty little Island Poppy back in her little sundress and sandals, and she looks much more comfortable to me. Little does she know the evil habit she spawned and how many more have come after her. Or maybe she does feel how crowded it is under my bed now, all those shipper boxes. Don't worry pretty Poppy, you'll always be special. And it will always be all your fault.

You're gonna put me back in that damn box under the bed now aren't you?
